Your details,
and what we do
with them
We collect what a ride needs and nothing more. This page says exactly what that is, who sees it, and how to get it back or deleted.
The short version
Your name and number go to the operator running your ride, so they can find you at the dock.
Location is only tracked while a ride is running, and it stops when the ride ends.
We never see your full card number — the payment processor holds it, not us.
We do not sell your data, and we do not use it to advertise to you.
The company behind the app
Book Bahamas Ltd is a booking platform registered in Nassau, New Providence, The Bahamas. We connect riders with licensed Bahamian water sports operators for jet ski rides and boat charters.
When you book through the app, we are the data controller for the account and booking information you give us. The operator running your ride is a separate controller for what they do with your details on the day.
This policy is written to meet the Data Protection (Privacy of Personal Information) Act of The Bahamas. If you are booking from the EU or UK, the rights below apply to you under GDPR as well.
What we ask for, and when
We only ask for something at the point it becomes necessary. Nothing here is collected in the background before you use the feature it belongs to.
Name, email, phone number, password, and an emergency contact if you add one.
Package, date and slot, number of riders, whether you asked for an instructor, and your check-in code.
Coordinates from your phone while a ride is active, so the operator and the coast guard can reach you.
Amount, currency, card brand and last four digits. The full card number goes straight to our payment processor.
What you write to us, plus any photos you attach — receipts, damage, screenshots.
Device type, app version, crash reports and which screens fail, so we can fix them.
What each piece is for
We rely on performing our contract with you for bookings and payments, on our legitimate interest in a safe and working service for diagnostics, and on your consent for location and marketing messages. Consent can be withdrawn at any time.
Tracking while you ride
Live location is the one permission that matters most here, so we are specific about it.
Who we share with
We do not sell personal information, and we do not pass it to advertisers. It is shared only where a ride cannot happen without it.
How long we keep things
Financial records are held for seven years because Bahamian tax law requires it — deleting your account does not remove them, though they are separated from your profile.
What you can ask us to do
Raise a case from the Help Center or email us, and we will answer within 30 days. There is no charge for a reasonable request.
Cookies and local storage
The app keeps a small amount of data on your own device — your session, your booking in progress, and your display preferences. This is what lets you close the app mid-booking and pick it up later.
We use a privacy-focused analytics tool that counts screen visits without building a profile of you. Clearing the app data removes all of it.
How we protect it
Traffic between your phone and our servers is encrypted. Passwords are hashed, never stored as text. Access to booking records is limited to the support staff who need it, and every look-up is logged.
No system is perfect. If a breach affects your information, we will tell you and the Data Protection Commissioner as quickly as we reasonably can.
Riders under 18
Accounts are for adults aged 18 and over. Minors can ride where the operator allows it, but the booking must be made and supervised by an adult, who provides their details.
We do not knowingly collect information directly from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will remove it.
When this policy changes
If we change something that affects you materially, we will notify you in the app and by email at least 14 days before it takes effect. Smaller wording changes are published here with a new version number and date.
Talk to us about privacy
